South Korean tech giant LG had started an Android N preview program for its users in Korea this August. The program enabled 2,000 testers to use and provide feedback about the OS which would in turn help the company remove all identified bugs before its final release.
The company has now announced that it is officially rolling out the update for all LG G5 users in Korea. It also revealed that bugs encountered by customers (who were a part of the preview program) have been fixed.
In a statement it said, "Android 7.0 Nougat offers a range of new features designed to enhance the user experience and deliver more speed and convenience to G5 owners." According to the company, customers in the US, Asia, and other markets will receive the update over-the-air in coming weeks.
LG launched the LG V20 recently in the US. Its first smartphone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, it is also the company's first to use Google's In Apps feature. The functionality helps users find content from built-in apps including contacts, emails, text messages and photos and user-installed apps.
The handset features a 5.7-inch QHD display with 1440x2560 pixel resolution and a second 2.1-inch display with 160 x 1040 pixel resolution. As per the company, the second screen offers enhanced visibility with double the brightness and 50% larger font size as compared to the V10. It runs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.
Available in a lightweight aluminium body, it offers 4GB RAM and a 64GB internal storage. Users can expand the storage up to 2TB with a microSD card.
Coming to the camera, the LG V20 sports a 16MP rear camera with dual LED flash, 75-degree lens, f/1.8 aperture, OIS and Hybrid Auto Focus (HAF).
The latter integrates three AF mechanisms -- Laser Detection AF, Phase Detection AF (PDAF) and Contrast AF -- for both videos and photos. The handset also has an 8MP rear camera with f/2.4 aperture and 135-degree lens for capturing wide shots. A 5MP front-facing wide angle lens camera is also included.
The device also offers 'Hi-Fi' video recording and comes equipped with afingerprint sensor. It also offers 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type C as connectivity options. The smartphone has a B&O audio for better music experience and is backed by a 3,200mAh battery with Quick Charge support.
